One thing the Marine Corps instilled deep within me is to never give up. Now, years after leaving military service, I see clearly that perseverance is a virtue instilled in all of us. Indeed, a true gift from God.
It has taken me a long time to hone the ability to turn to God in all struggles, I still fail. Practice makes perfect however. I have came across people in my life who claim evil does not exist. What hits me the hardest is when other Christians claim such erroneousness. The very notion to cuss when you slam your shin into the hitch on the back of your truck at night is derived from sin. There is such an atmosphere of skepticism in the world. Many people don’t know that a spiritual battle is being waged against them and haven’t availed themselves of the spiritual armor that can protect them and enable them to help set others free. Many of our fellow Christians are drifting along with the culture, believing whatever they hear from any sources, moving along on that wide and easy path that leads to destruction. Jesus warned us of this very thing:
“Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is easy, that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard, that leads to life, and those who find it are few." ~~ Matthew 7:13
But we have a much greater power on our side:
"How very great is his power that works in us is the same as the mighty strength which He used when He raised Christ from death and seated Him at his right side in the heavenly world." ~~ Ephesians 1:19. Think about that for awhile. The power of prayer is greater than we know.
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
“Maybe Satan’s greatest achievement in these times has been to make us believe that he does not exist, and that all can be fixed on a purely human level. - Pope Francis
”The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. - 1 John 3:8
